Where & When
Gay/Bi Night: Tuesday Feb 7th
Lesbian/Bi Night: Wednesday Feb 8th
Queer Night (open to all genders and sexualities): Thursday Feb 9th
Each night from 6:30pm at Carmen Jones on Karangahape Road
Queer Speed Dating is an opportunity for rainbow people to meet potential lovers, partners, friends, flatmates, future exes, or chosen family!
Not everyone likes using dating apps or clubbing, so Queer Speed Dating will give you a chance to meet all sorts of new people in one place on one night. Whilst dating is in the name, building community is the real aim. Keep in mind that those you meet might be more than just potential romantic partners!
Three consecutive nights will be held, one for gay/bi people, one for lesbian/bi people, and then a queer night open to all genders and sexualities.
- Guests will be provided with a nametag on arrival for name, pronouns, and any other information you may want to provide, such as your sexuality or whether you are seeking a romantic partner or just platonic friendship.
- Guests will have 3-5 minutes during their blind pairings, during which time they will also have access to conversation prompts and question cards.
- At the end of the session, guests will provide us with their contact information and the people they would like to connect with further. We will then arrange for you to get in touch!
- A cash bar will be available throughout the night and some kai (with vegan options) will be provided.
PLEASE NOTE:
Due to high demand, ALL SESSIONS are now fully booked, and we are only accepting applications for waitlist spots. We encourage you to register for the waitlist, we will be contacting successful applicants as spots become available. Please note also that the event times have been revised. The event will run from 6:30pm each night for ALL age groups. The 18-24 year old group will run alongside the 25+ session for the first hour. There will be an intermission for food, drinks, and mingling. The blind pairings will then continue for another hour, at which time those in the 18-24 group may join the 25+ group if they wish or opt to leave.
