samesame but different Opening Gala

The opening event of our Gala night is the announcement of the winners of the Peter Wells Short Fiction Contest, which celebrates the life and work of samesame but different founder, the writer, filmmaker and historian Peter Wells. It gives New Zealand LGBTQIA+ writers the opportunity to show their creative skills in writing that will have relevance to the broader Aotearoa New Zealand queer community, and to promote their work to a wider audience. The 2023 Contest judges are Grace Shelly and Oscar Upperton.
