Te Ariki Alistair Taniwha

Te Ariki Alistair (Ngaati Kahu, Te Aupouri) is a multi-disciplinary artist from the “Naughty North” (Te Tai Tokerau) and assemblage; Taniwha morphs his skill-set derived from technical scenic painting in film to address the onto-epistemological limiations of Takataapuitanga. Taniwha creates speculative works that bridge Māori creation and sci-fi fantasy as a way of imagining indegenous futurisms.
